Once we finish your project I will do a skype call/screen share with you and we will record a 1-hour training session showing you the in's and out's of your site specifically. After that, I have an entire client only library of examples, videos, and pdfs to help guide you on how to edit it in the future. Additionally, Squarespace has an amazing abundance of articles and help tutorials as well. And remember, the reason I choose this platform for my clients is so that it's user-friendly once I'm out of the picture.
If you're working with us for your branding, your logo will be ready and you'll have a good head start on your images and copy by working through our entire process. If you are just starting out and have none of these things, that's ok, I will suggest upon initial contact, some ways you can begin to collect and generate these items. The website can be easily changed as we add pages, pictures, and text throughout the course of the project. Keep in mind, though, these things will be very important to have for the final site. We can begin to design the site with much of it being "placeholder" text and images but we don't want to leave it that way. We want you to succeed and move forward with a site you're excited to show off.
I'm here to help guide you through this process. It can seem overwhelming but I promise with the right help, it's not. I design your site on a trial basis through Squarespace, which is totally separate from your current site. You will keep your old site up and running until we are ready to make the switch. If you have a domain already (www.yoursite.com) and you bought it at Bluehost, GoDaddy, etc, I will help with getting that moved over to your Squarespace site. We will then hook your new site to your domain name and I can assist in getting your old content transferred over. This process is typically very smooth and I'm here to help. Keeping good records/files at this point will benefit you grately so that you are not hunting down old images and text for your site.
Every website I build is mobile responsive and will function beautifully on desktops, tablets, mobile phones and about any other device you can pull it up on. To make the process easiest, we focus on the desktop version first, and then finalize details within the mobile version so that we have all our bases covered.
Absolutely. I exclusively design sites in Squarespace because I believe it is the easiest platform to use and edit on your own after your project is complete. Some of the older website builders and even the really robust ones such as WordPress are a nightmare to try to learn the backend if you aren't use to it. Once our customers realize just how easy it is to do things like add their own blog posts, update contact info, post pictures to a gallery, all on their own, they instantly become excited and confident in their new site. We also include a 1 hour walkthrough at the end of your process to show you exactly how to navigate your new site.
If you haven't met Asana yet you'll be a huge fan here soon. It's easy to use I promise, and if you're new to it I've got a video that walks you through getting started. It will be like our digital file cabinet, keeping all of your project files, discussions and to-dos in one organized and convenient place. No more hard-to-track email threads or re-sending documents that got lost. Plus, we’re able to track deadlines, keep communication clear, and my favorite... check things off that to-do list!
After you inquire through our contact form, we’ll send you over our Process & Pricing Guide and schedule a quick chat to see if we vibe. If we’re practically finishing one another’s sentences and you’re ready to collaborate on your business vision, we’ll send you over an invoice for the deposit so you can officially claim your design project spot.
